There was once a grain of sand that wanted more than to cover the river floor or to adorn the beach.  It thought for a long time about being able to become something wonderful.  Just like the clouds that would create images above it, the little grain wanted to become whatever people could imagine it to be.  One beautiful day, an artists found the grain of sand, and took it with many of its friends back to her home. With a delicate hand she took some of the grains and spread them across an illuminated table and, as if by magic, a beautiful image appeared.  She began to tell stories with the sand – stories about kings, heroes, princesses and castles – and so was the dream of that grain of sand fulfilled. Experience the magic of sand painting now in the Dresden Sand Theater.  Our sand artists will take you to a foreign world of magic and adventure – an experience for young and old alike.
